View changes from “git log -p” in “difftool”

I’m getting branch changes for review by using git log -p master..newbranch, but it just gives me diff file. How can I view this diff with external tool like meld? I want to see what was changed only in this specific branch (from branch start to tip).

  • Invoking external difftool from git-gui?
  • Why does “git difftool” not open the tool directly?
  • `git difftool` refuses to run under Emacs inferior shell
  • Is Git's auto-detection scripted or is it within some Git executable?
  • Git Diff and Meld on Windows
  • Compare and Edit Branches in Git with a Mergetool
  • git-svn crashing on big repo migration
  • Importing commit history from Bitbucket to Github
  • Git error when pushing: Object from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded
  • Xcode and git-lfs
  • Customizing bash prompt (PS1) for git branches with colors
  • Git fu: identify commit(s) that are “behind its remote counterpart”
  • One Solution collect form web for “View changes from “git log -p” in “difftool””

Okay, I’ve found it’s done like this:

    git difftool --dir-diff master...newbranch
