Searching code in a specific github Branch

I am trying to search some code in a branch in a github repo.

However this indicates that I can only search the default branch.

  • How to merge remote changes at GitHub?
  • git best practices for developing a code for two different devices
  • How can I build my local git repo on external server?
  • What does git remote mean?
  • Splitting each commit by file?
  • git clone into home directory
  • Is there anyway I can search code in non-default branch in my github repo?

  • In git, how do I increase the context for merges?
  • How to abort a git rebase in interactive editor
  • fatal: Not a valid object name: 'master'
  • msys git and long paths
  • unstaged files gone after git reset --hard
  • git log over ssh remote repository
  • One Solution collect form web for “Searching code in a specific github Branch”

Not from the GitHub web interface itself, as mentioned in “How to search for a commit message in github?”: only master is indexed.

Your best bet is to clone the repo, and there, search in all branches. (with git log -S for instance)
