git-upload-pack not found while adding new repository to Eclipse Git

I use Eclipse with GIT plugin. I try to add a new GitHub repository, by copying the GitHub URL to the clipboard, then going to the “Git Repositories” view and right-clicking “Paste Repository Path or URL”.

I get the following error:

  • Eclipse changes file mode from 644 to 755 on all files it touches
  • Can EGit revert a merge commit?
  • Intellij: Making a project dependent on another project?
  • Egit Eclipse insufficient data written)
  • Building Eclipse IDE from scratch - how to specify the target OS?
  • How to get only changes from branch's branch in git?
  • not found

This is strange, because I already have some repositories in this view…

  • git stash unable to refresh, how to pop only some files
  • Composer multi-level dependency with private repos
  • Visual Studio 2013 and Git 2.4
  • Rollback to uncommited changes after hard reset a Git Repository
  • Git revert creates conflict “deleted by us” due to rename
  • Creating a git repo on my server
