git clone never completes

I am trying to use git clone on Mac OS Snow Leopard. All I do is “git clone https://*/project.git” from documents/projects directory. For some reason operation never completes and stops at random points somewhere at the “Receiving Files:” stage(different % of copied files each time). Am I doing something wrong?

  • How can I trust Git merge?
  • Create a Git server on Local Network without using third party software or applications
  • Git: reset/revert a whole branch to another branches state?
  • Git fetch: Remote keeps deleting and adding branches
  • git error: “The remote end hung up unexpectedly, invalid characters in (..path..)”
  • Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 LTS startup script java file
  • 'git status' shows changes to be commited, but 'git push origin master' says 'Everything up-to-date'
  • How to patch a repo in GIT
  • Cannot apply Git patch (replacing a file with a link)
  • Find new location for file in Git
  • Git history - find lost line by keyword
  • svn “git add” alternative?
  • One Solution collect form web for “git clone never completes”

I have usually seen this symptom on repos with a “resource locked” issue, because of some processes keeping an handle on one of the git files.

Last time was for a git repo directly part of a Dropbox shared directory. (Which is why I always recommend to share in a Dropbox directory only the bundle, not the all git repo structure itself)

Git Baby is a git and github fan, let's start git clone.
